Big Brother Smoking Ban?

The makers of Big Brother have come under pressure from anti-smoking campaigners to ban smoking from the house for the series this summer. Campaigners believe that smokers such as Pete Burns on the recent celebrity Big Brother might encourage younger fans to smoke. I see three problems with this

1) Nobody in their right mind would ever want to be anything like Pete Burns
2) Denying smokers access to cigarettes is one of the ways BB ensures that ther is always lots of friction and therefore drama in the house. Which is what keeps everyone watching.
3) Having a houseful of non-smokers would inevitably be boring to watch.

Interview With Adam Sandler

as.jpgAdam Sandler one of our favourite movie guilty pleasures is starring in an upcoming comedy "Click" with Kate Beckinsale, David Hasslehoff and Christopher Walken. The premise behind the movie is that Sandler is a harrassed business executive who finds a universal remote control which allows him to stop and start time. Who hasn't at one time or another wished they could turn the volume down on someone who was having a moan at them? Sandler's own choice of activity to alter would be his teenage sex life "I would definitely slow-mo my sexual episodes," Sandler laughed. "They tended to go very quickly — for everybody. I'd like to go back and slow my penis down."

A NEW SUPERBOOK

It's going to be cool to have read it but wait long enough and it'll become the next Da Vinci Code. "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell is set to be the biggest book of the year appealling to both intellects (or wannabe's) and dullhard's alike.

It's written on the supposition that first impressions really do count. It's a great book that reasons that the impression and opinion you build up within the first 2 seconds of being presented with something new, say meeting a new person or walk into a house you are thinking of buying. Essentially it argues that more often than not in those two seconds the opinion you form is most probably as accurate as one you form if you'd spend hours or days with that person, or round that house.

You'll love it and feel bad for doing so!

Nadia the tranny from Big Brother is facing up to six months in prison for slapping a man in a pub in Islington, London. Surely the judge will see sense and throw this one out of court, being beaten up by a tranny can't be a crime, can it? Some people pay good money for that sort of stuff.

Why We Are Delighted All Saints Are Reforming

A couple of weeks ago it was announced the All Saints are reforming, which was quite a surprise to anyone that has read the Appleton sisters autobiography which spent a good deal of time detailing why they hated the other two members of the band so much. Anyway we are glad they a reforming and here is a nice piece from AskMen.com summarising why All Saints were such a great pop band.
